JULIA BENSON BIO:
Julia first discovered performing at a young age when she fell in love with ballet. She has had a passion for performing ever since! This passion lead her to Vancouver Youth Theater at the age of 13 where she was part of a collective theater group that toured Vancouver's lower mainland and eventually was invited to perform at the Aberdeen Youth Festival in Scotland. Throughout high school, Julia continued to balance dancing and theater, joining the improv team in her last year. As one of the few women involved in theater sports, Julia and her team won the provincial championships and placed fourth in Nationals.
It was at this point that Julia knew all she wanted to do was act. She went to the University of British Columbia and received a degree in Theater and Psychology. After she graduated, she spent a summer in New York training at David Mamets', Atlantic Theater Company. Since then, Julia has been working in the film and television industry. She stills loves being on stage and tries to do a play once a year. However, this year time has not permitted a play, as she has been very busy loving life working on Stargate Universe!
Never one to wait for the phone to ring, Julia turned her sights towards creating and producing. She currently has a series in development with City TV that she created with her amazing husband Peter Benson and dynamic partner Aubrey Arnason!
